As a product expert in the field of wireless backup camera systems for vehicles, I understand that sometimes technical issues can arise. In this guide, I will provide you with troubleshooting steps to help you resolve any problems you may encounter with your license plate camera.
1. No Image /Black screen/Stop working
If you are experiencing a lack of image from your license plate camera, there are a few potential causes to consider:
-
Poor wiring contact: Check the wiring and the entire car installation of the junction, to see if there is a false connection.
If there is, it will naturally lead to the reverse image when the situation does not work, or even a direct black screen is also possible, this time as long as the false connection of the parts of the connection can be completed. - Confirm voltage: Use a multimeter to check if the power source provides stable 12V DC.
- Reverse Light Circuit: Verify that the reverse light circuit provides stable 12V power when engaged. You can test this with a multimeter. If wiriing power from one reverse light is not enough to make the camera work. You can run a power wire from both reverse lights.
- Confirm that the camera is receiving power: Check if the LED light up when the camera is triggered.
- Compatibility Check: Ensure the camera is compatible with your head unit. Confirm that your head unit supports CVBS signal format (standard analog video).
- On your head unit, ensure the correct input source is selected for the camera (e.g., RCA input). Adjust a setting in the menu. Look for "camera input" or "reversing" or "video input" in the menus.
- Test with Another Vehicle: Test camera the with another head unit to determine if the issue is with the camera, the head unit, or the connection.
- RCA Connection: Please ensure the camera’s video cable is plugged into the correct video input port (often labeled "Rear Cam" or "CVBS IN") on your head unit, not an audio or accessory port.
2. Camera LED is on, but no display
- Ensure that using the power and video cables supplied with our kit. The B2 camera may not work if the wiring from the old camera is used. Even though the plugs are the same, the line in is different from old to the B2 camera and please to switch them so camera will be operating.
- Check if make the cable in the wrong port on the back of the radio.
3.The image is flickering/flashing or has horizontal/vertical lins
- It is possible that you have a faulty connection or a fraying wire. Ensure all of the connections and cables in your backup camera system are fully connected and repair any damage.
- Possibly use a different ground point(iron part) and wrap power and video plugs with electrical tape to insulate from interference or ignore the negative connection.
- Check the head unit setting
- Interference exists: tap into the reverse signal at a different location or order a 12V DC power adapter filter rectifier to solve it.
- Separate power lines: Keep camera wiring away from vehicle high-voltage cables (e.g., ignition wires).
4.Poor Image Quality
If you are experiencing poor image quality from your license plate camera, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
- Check for dirt or debris: Inspect the camera lens for any dirt, smudges, or obstructions. Clean the lens gently with a soft cloth if necessary.
- Adjust camera settings: Some license plate cameras offer adjustable settings for brightness, contrast, or image orientation. Experiment with these settings to improve the image quality.
- Inspect your head unit: If the image quality issue persists, check the monitor for any potential problems. Ensure that the monitor is functioning correctly and that its settings are properly adjusted.
- Please check if there is moisture in the lens.
- This wired camera need to be connected using a standard RCA connector. If an extension lead is required be sure to use a Video cable with RCA type ends. An Audio cable will cause poor picture quality.
- The B2 wired Camera need to be connected using a standard RCA connector. If an extension lead is required be sure to use a Video cable with RCA type ends. An Audio cable will cause poor picture quality.
The image is reversed
- If the image of the right side of the curb is displayed on the left side when backing up. Please make sure the camera is mounted on the back of the vehicle. Because the B2 camera does not have a mirror function cannot be used as a front view camera.
